Biography
Lorena Milina
Born in Dubrovnik in 1990, Milina is a violinist originally from the island of Korčula. She started her music education at the age of eight in the class of prof. Boris Krasovac (Dubrovnik). Her violin studies began in 2008 at the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of prof. Borivoj Martinić (Zagreb) and prof. Martin Draušnik (Zagreb) where she received her master's degree in 2014. Through her education, she participates in various projects, regional and national competitions and has won numerous awards. From the beginning of her studies she was a scholarship holder of the Dubrovnik - Neretva County . She received the Erasmus scholarship for the five months she spent in Germany (Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart), in the class of prof. Kolja Lessing. During this period, besides many classical music projects she participated in Jazz projects at the Jazz Academy in Stuttgart.
She dedicates part of her studies in Zagreb to the original performance of Baroque music, where her mentor was a leading name in the field of reproduction of music of the old epochs in Croatia, prof. Laura Vadjon. She places great emphasis on Croatian composers of the 21st century and was awarded the Rector's Special Award in 2010 for playing at the Zagreb Biennale.
She was awarded the French Government Scholarship for 2016/2017 and she completed her two postgraduate studies Diplôme de virtuosité and Diplôme de concert - cycle de perfectionnement in Paris at the prestigious La Schola Cantorum Conservatory in the class of prof. Violeta Smailovic-Huart (Paris).
Since 2015 she has been teaching and working as a violin teacher at Luka Sorkočević Secondary and Elementary Music School in Dubrovnik. Her students won first prizes at national violin and chamber music competitions.
In 2016 she co-founded with her colleagues soprano Helen Mamich and pianist Jelena Kovačević the Arbor Vitae Trio and performed numerous notable concerts.
Since 2019 she is employed as a Senior Assistant at the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo and has enrolled in the second year of the III cycle of study (DMA).
In 2020 she founded Fermata festival of classical music in her hometown.
In 2020 HKD Napredak Glavna podružnica Tuzla formed Trio Musica Salinea where she plays with pianist Alma Hodžić-Pašić and cellist Lidija Paulin.
She has performed as a soloist or ensemble member in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Austria, France, Poland, Hungary, Italy and Estonia.

2016-present: Student of ''La Schola Cantorum'' - Recipient of the ''Ambassade de France en Croatie'' Scholarship (2016/2017) - She performed in Rome as a young talented musician; concert ''Le donne e musica'' organized by association ''Mosaico Italo Croato Roma'' (2016) - She is the winner of a public competition for international co-operation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia for two concerts in France (Paris, Rueil Malmaison). The concert is co-funded and supported by the City of Dubrovnik, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Paris, the City of Rueil Malmaison, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and the AMCA - Society of Former Students of Croatian Universities (2018) - Performed in Rome as a young talented musician.
